Early on the company pioneered a process for generating and sharpening custom blades that could accommodate different steels and unique edge configurations.

Today the company is the foremost producer of highly precise products for cutting, piercing and intravenous applications for industrial process components, as well as medical devices and in vitro sciences. By increasing the performance of these products the company is improving patient outcomes and facilitating better science.

Cadence is headquartered in Staunton, VA. In 2007 it became a member of the Axel Johnson Inc. family.
